First Entire "Paleo" Day

I'm not going to lie. I have a headache.  Probably because I didn't down gigantic quantities of caffeine and I'm missing me some chocolate. But I've given it up twice during pregnancy so I know I can do this. (the caffeine not the chocolate). Don't let me totally fool you I had two cups of coffee. Alright. It's 10:45. I need to be up in 6 hours. This is not improving my sleep...but I will get there.

Pre Breakfast Snack
10 almonds
1/2 cup blueberries
2 slices of a nectarine
2 cups of coffee

Breakfast **don't laugh this is pretty darn fancy in my breakfast world
2 poached eggs
2 pieces of low calorie canadian bacon (60 cals/slice)

Lunch
Cup of pureed sweet potatoes/coconut oil/ginger/garlic
2 strawberries

Snack
Spoonful of almond butter (the brand is Justin's...must be good)

Dinner
6oz Filet Mignon
One Orange Bell Pepper sauteed in olive oil/ montreal steak seasoning

Dessert
Strawberries and 2 tbsp pure honey

Today I loved my canadian bacon.

Starting Fresh

Today I decided I need a space where I can hold myself accountable as I begin to make some very necessary changes in my life. Not only have I found myself in a place where I grimace when I look in the mirror, but I just flat out don't feel good. I've been playing the "I just had a baby" excuse game for the past 2 years and it's time for a change. One for my self-esteem (yeah that's right, I'm tired of not being able to fit into any of my clothes) and an honest two for my wanting to not feel so tired, sick and blah all the time..

So with a huge push from the amazing Jenny (http://www.bootcampanthem.com/) I've been little by little learning about Crossfit and the Paleo diet/lifestyle. Don't know about it? Google it...this mama is on a little timeframe before baby wakes up. Let's just say Jenny has managed to drag me out of bed at 5:00am to sweat my buns off for 15 minutes and then actually make me want to put down the mashed potatoes and reeses peanut butter cups and eat some veggies...I was going to say nuts but that just didn't sound right. Anyways, this is not an easy task with someone who's only previous "diet" was a self imposed snickers and black coffee only restriction. Mmmmm snickers:-)  I actually found this to be quite effective and enjoyable but probably not a good example for the kiddos.

Before now I've never been a huge foodie. It's just never been that important to me.  Enter pregnancy and a husband who can eat whatever he damn well pleases and you get chicken fried steak, chocolate milkshakes and potatoes...lots of potatoes. Not exactly healthy.

This blog is probably not going to be the most exciting and I'm only letting the people I love and know will keep my butt in check read it so they can make sure I'm not cheating.

So here we go. Day one. (Officially start the 30 day challenge August 1st but I need a head start).

I'm attaching a picture because I need motivation...it's for me...and you guys won't judge...because I'm being honest.

xoxo.
